Introduction
I decided to write “100+ Internet Marketing Best Practices” with the primary goal of helping businesses use the internet more effectively, to quickly get better and measurable results from their internet marketing, and increase sales and revenue.
After 25 years of consulting in the internet marketing space, the number one issue I see companies struggle with is trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
Throwing mud at the wall and waiting to see what might stick isn’t my idea of good internet marketing. It wastes time and gets expensive!
What Qualifies as an “Internet Marketing Best Practice?”
• It works well, if not very well
• It works consistently
• Not using it creates a weakness, threat, or competitive disadvantage
• The results it creates are usually long-term

I want to start with some technical things that are particularly important when it comes to improving your visibility at Google; improving your website’s rankings and beating your competition on a Google search engine results page.
I believe that some of the highest quality website traffic comes from people who are searching at Google. Think about it for a minute, someone has a problem, they are looking for a solution. What do they do? They go to Google where 5.6 billion searches are made every day. And if they find your website top-ranked at Google on a search engine results page, and click through, a new customer should only be an online inquiry or a phone call away!
