Use a “Take Away” to Increase Sales

Yesterday I listed the 10 things that I think should be on every post-inquiry landing page. #8 was “Some type of downloadable take away.”

Erika Stone-Miller, the Director of Catering at Premier Catering & Events in Chicago, and a Book More Weddings Tip of the Day subscriber, asked me to clarify!

A “take away” is just what it says, something someone visiting your website can take away with them before leaving your website. You might think of it as a little gift, but I think of it as a powerful SALES tool.

For example, if you go to the International Association of Wedding Industry Professionals page at the link below you can see a “take away” in action. Give it a try!

Trust me, people love these type of simple checklists that help them understand something they don’t. Properly produced, they also create authority and trust.

A take-away also creates huge competitive advantage, and who wouldn’t like that these days?  A bride/groom probably visits four or five of your competitors online. With YOUR take away they now have something from your business and probably will print it. They are also more likely to remember your brand and company name because of it.
